Middletons of Kemnay

Hi,I wondered if anyone had any information on the Middletons in and around Kemnay.

I was in Kemnay in September and met a very nice lady at the Church.I asked if it was ok to take some photos some of the graves of the Middletons.She actually took the time to introduce me to her husband who knew some of the history of the Middletons from the area. Unfortunately my trip was done in a bit of a rush and I didnt have much info with me at the time, so wasnt much help to him in trying to fathem out which of the two Middleton families i was descended from. You may know who I am talking about, but unfortunately I have forgotten their name, but he stays across the road from the garage on the main road through the town towards Inverurie.

Anyway after all that could you please thank them again for their hospitality.

Regarding the Middletons, my Greatgrandfather a Robert Middleton was born in Cluny, but as there were 2 Robert Middletons born around the same time I have came to a Y junction. I am pretty certain that his father was a Joseph Middleton and a Mary Smith, but cannot get it in Black and White. My Robert got married to a Mary Crombiein 1825, but he may also have been married to a Hellen Garden in 1810. I have also heard through my dad and my aunt in Canada that they remember stories being told of our Ancestors being Traitors? and Murders? My Dad died nearly three years ago and my aunt cant remember what the stories where,so not sure what they meant or how far back the stories began. I am pretty sure it may be in the 1700's though, although I would be very interested to know if anyone knows about them or could point me in the right direction.
