Academy Kids & litter

in ::

Have previously written about both Academy Kids & litter &this is about both. Sorry to harp on about the same subject bus it's a real bugbear. Today a group of about 15 kids were passing my house on their way back to school. Had to ask a couple of them to get out of my garden and then one boy threw down his tray of half-eaten chips right in front of me. Asked him to pick it up & putitinthebinmin as they say. I didn't quite catch his comment but couldn't print it here anyway! When I was at school (not that long ago) we weren't allowed out at lunchtimes & if we were caught littering we had to do litter duty & pick up everyone elses rubbish for a week. I know times have changed but with freedom comes responsibility. These kids want all the freedom but none of the responsibilty. It's really sad.

Litter Louts

Why is it that some people seem determined to spoil our beautiful village by dumping their rubbish wherever they coose? On a recent walk down by the river my children noticed a man with a wheelbarrow full of rubbish come down from Boat Croft & tip it over the edge of the bank down towards the river. By the time we got to the place he had disappeared but looking over the edge we saw a huge pile of rubbish, and not just garden waste. How are we supposed to teach our kids that littering is wrong if they see adults doing this??
