The Church In Kemnay
The Church in Kemnay goes back as far as the 12th century, but not until the middle 1600's were there any Parish records kept. Although there was a church on the same site as the existing building, in the middle of the 19th century the original building was demolished to make room for a larger one, to cope with the increasing population, and this was finished in 1844.
Further extensions were carried out in 1871, 1907 and 1928. The former Free Church (with the clock tower), off Kendall Road, united with the Church of Scotland in 1935 and this building now serves as the Church centre.
