1. POLICE MATTERS.
Inspector Allan advised that the project and subsequent development of the Police house will also mean that the Police Office, which will remain in the building, will also be renovated and due to the new layout of the house the office will be extended also. He then went on to explain what his command area classify as 'priority crimes' these are Housebreaking, Violent Crime, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft from a Motor Vehicle and Vandalism and gave a short but in depth presentation of the statistics in this command area and then in Kemnay. It was encouraging to learn that the figures show that the official recorded crime in the area is dropping and in the last quarter of 2002 was at it lowest in 5 years.

2. PRESENTATION BY MARION ROTHWELL ON 50+ SKILLS.
They had an excellent response to the article in the Newsletter last month to both sharing a skill and attending courses as well as ideas for when, where and what type of course people would like. They are planning a 'taster day' on Saturday the 21st of June at The Village Hall from 11am to 5pm - entry is free - open to all over 50.

3. UPDATE ON THE POINT OF ORIGIN BY CHRIS FREEMANTLE.
The Scottish Sculpture Workshop have received lots of positive feedback from people using and enjoying the hill but it is not yet finished. The work with the heavy equipment has now finished and it is the finishing off process that will begin, finishing the entrances, signage and a publication before the official opening. It is planned to have a local event this year and then the formal opening will probably be next year. In response to the question for both litter and doggy bins, it is planned to have them at the entrances and it is hoped that people will be responsible enough to use these.

5. MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTE
a. Glebe Obstruction - It will be moved shortly.

b. Garioch Area Partnership - Replied to proposal with no objection waiting to hear more details.

c. Trees on the Village Green - Now trimmed back.

d. Website -updating shortly with Community Council Members and relevant office bearers.

e. A.S.C.C. AGM 14th of June in Glasgow.
No one free to attend at this moment.

6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a. Trees under the Don Bridge - still there currently but will be done shortly.

7. NEW BUSINESS
a. Calor Gas Awards - entries from last year to be updated and we will enter a fresh entry.

b. Health Needs Assessment - brief reply sent as no time to discuss the lengthy document received in the time frame given.

c. Chairman & Vice Chairman of Garioch Area Forum - no nominations from Kemnay Community Council.

d. Swimming Pool Association Meeting from 14th of May - after a very enthusiastic and well attended meeting 10 new committee members were elected and they are to meet again on the 4th of June.

e. R.A.G.S Presentation & Meeting on 28th of May by Clair Wright - a well-attended and very informative meeting with more information to follow as the Council roll out their plans. For further information now look at the website - www.rags.org.uk

f. National Consultation - to be further discussed at the Garioch Area forum and the A.S.C.C. forum.

g. Reserved parking for Doctor's surgery - no objection to this

8. SAFETY GROUP - not meeting until w/c 2/6

9. PRESS REPORTS - several articles - all positive about Kemnay

10. ABERDEENSHIRE NEWS - report by Cllr Leitch,
a. The Youth Café - plans currently at the Scottish Office for the change of use.

b. Play Areas - at Bogbeth Park upgraded and more facilities are being fitted.

c. Landscaping throughout the village - currently being undertaken, Willow Trees planted in the Wet Area and tidied up, we respectfully ask that people do not dump rubbish in this wildlife wetland area.

d. Bogbeth Park - drainage project, more sand slitting to be done. The old toilet block is to be cleaned up and used as storage shed.

e. Leading Edge - raise £2,000 from their 'Male Auction'

11. PLANNING APPLICATIONS - Skate Park at Bogbeth Park, Milton Farm for 3 houses and a business unit, 4 houses outline for Aquithie Road on the site of the old chicken sheds - all supported and welcomed as improvements to our village.
