North East Scotland Classical Guitar Society
KEMNAY Church Centre will be Friday's 8pm venue for a concert from Dundee musician Allan Neave, launching a new season of North East Scotland Classical Guitar Society events. Run jointly by Inverurie Music, the recital will be followed on Saturday by a 9.30am-5pm workshop led by the musician, who is guitar tutor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Limited places priced at £35 for the centre session are available on 01467 642729.

The Cairts will race for three miles, starting near the summit of Cairn William and finishing in Monymusk Village.
Cairts to have no engines, a minimum of three wheels and working brakes. Three people per team, minimum age 14 years.
1pm: Cairts Arrive at Monymusk Square for inspection by a Judge. The cairts are taken to the starting post on Cairn William and the race starts at 2:30pm.
In 1980 there were hundreds of spectators.
The race is in aid of charity. Half of the money raised to go to the RLNI and two cancer charities, the rest will be distributed amongst Monymusk charities. The last race raised £13,000!

A Top Welsh choir will give a musical boost to the funds of Kemnay church.
The Bryncoch Welsh Male Voice Choir, formed in 1982, will be at Kemnay Church centre on Saturday, September 23, at 7pm.
The choir has agreed to provide their services for free to raise cash towards the refurbishing of the church.
The choir, from Neath in South-west Wales, is no stranger to large venues having appeared in the past at the Royal Albert Hall in London and St David's Hall in Cardiff.
