Noctilucent clouds are a rare phenomenon, seen only in high latitudes around the time of the longest day. They are quite different from normal clouds, being formed in a far higher layer. Not only do they glow in the twilit sky but they often adopt weird and interesting patterns of streak and ripples.

Scotland bore the brunt of the icy blast. This picture was taken by Helen Copus at Kemnay, Aberdeenshire.

Kemnay Bowling Club, in action!

This marvellous picture which captures not only the Bowling Club, but looks out to Bogbeth Park, and captures the Tennis Court and the children's play area, too - reminding us of lucky we are to have such facilities in Kemnay!
