Chairman's Report

This has been the last year of the three year term of the current Kemnay Community Council. For the first time in, I believe, around twenty years it was necessary to hold an election for the next Council, and while this did entail some work it was very encouraging to see that there were so many people prepared to step forward and to serve on behalf of Kemnay.

It has been a varied year, with fewer major issues than have occurred in the recent past, but nonetheless a good deal has been achieved.

Present:

2. Welcome:

Chris Hunneyball welcomed those present, and offered congratulations to Derek Brown, chairman of the football club, who had already won kit for the club in the Grassroots Award and was now short listed for the final stages of the award.

Kemnay Community Council Elections, 2009 

There are fifteen vacancies to be filled. Nomination papers will appear in the January newsletter and forms will also be available in the village.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELECTION

 A person seeking election to a Community Council must be aged 18 years or over and either:

 (a) appear on the Electoral Roll for that Community Council area at the date of being proposed  for membership of the Community Council; or

 (b) have during a period of at least three months preceding date of nomination had their ordinary or principal place of residence within the Community Council area; or

Present:

2.  Welcome:

Chris Hunneyball welcomed those present. He noted that Neil Johnson had resigned his membership and a vote of thank was passed for his major contribution to the work of the Community Council.  He also congratulated Kemnay Wildlife Explorers, the Bargain Box, and Kemnay Primary on their recent Green Butterfly Awards.
