Duncan Downie writes many articles for the local newsletter, which keep the history of the village intact for for us.

He has also written some books on the historical interest of street names and has a wealth of knowledge on local family history.

Susan Milton, [Susan Letitia Burnett] has also written a book entitled, Without Fanfare: The Story of My Family, which is a detailed account of the Burnetts of Kemnay.

Palace of Fetternear: There is a major archaeological dig going on in Kemnay every Summer. Together with the late Nicholas Bogdan, of Oldmeldrum, Ms Dransart started excavations beside the ruins of Fetternear House in 1994.

The work uncovered the remains of the Palace of Fetternear, created by Alexander Kininmonth while he was Bishop of Aberdeen between 1329 and 1341.
