Watson

The Watson family did indeed stay at Ford Lodge Fetternear in the 1930s. This building no longer exists as it was demolished in the 1980s and was rebuilt as part of a garage at Tilliehashlach some five miles up Donside. James and his wife are both buried in Kemnay Church yard and are commemorated as follows:

Erected by JAMES WATSON in memory of his wife ELIZABETH FINDALTER who died at Ford Lodge, Fetternear 29th May 1931, the said JAMES WATSON died 2nd July 1939 aged 75 years.

The ashes of their last surviving daughter, Jessie Ann, who lived at Bexhill on Sea, were interred in the family grave on 30 May 2005. Another daughter, Alice, who married Edwin Brandie, lived in the village for many years and was buried on 24 February 2005.
