Countdown to moving to Kemnay

in ::

Well, it's 10.30am on Saturday morning, and we are sitting looking at a lounge full of stuff still to be packed. It's T minus 6 days until the big move to Kemnay and we are looking forward to arriving in the village!

I'm the Doctor, and my sidekick here is Belle, and we thought we should introduce ourselves and let you know about our progress in packing and moving. I see Castle Fraser has a bulb sale on next week, so I might have to make a case for stocking up on bulbs this time in order to get out of unpacking boxes next Saturday.

Other stuff still to be done - clear out the shed, and my tool cupboard - always a good opportunity to find things I thought I'd never see again... and then try and rescue them from Belle as she tries to put them in the bin. Honestly, you never know when a set of snow chains for a car I don't own anymore might come in useful!

Hello, who am I

in ::

Hi all, I'm Claire and I just thought I'd introduce myself and tell you a bit about why I'm here.

I live in the Village with my hubby and we have a six year old son. I'm as interested in anyone as having a community site to keep me informed of the goings on in the village. However I also have a hobby, which some would say is an obsession. I design web sites. Well that's how it started anyway. Now I actually fix web sites and the code behind them rather the actual "graphical" design of them.

This site is the amalgamation of lots of time, recommended software, and thrawn-ness! This site is not "mine" (though I feel it's like my "baby"), it belongs to the Village, I'm only the geek behind the scenes who's been trying to get it working in a such a way that everyone can use it.

What's a blog?

in ::

Hi I'm Claire and this is my blog.

Let's get the boring bit out of the way first..

What is a blog, well "blog" is basically short for "Web Log" with author said to be the "blogger" It's a very basic means of keeping an online journal that allows the author to share his/her own opinions instantly and obtain feedback and discussion.

Blogs within a bigger site (like this one) can best be described as mini sites or mini directories, populated with the author's personal opinion.
